Frequently Asked Questions...

What is the GOYGB Summer Camp?
The Camp is an opportunity to live in a community of other young Orthodox Christians.

Who is Camp for?
Camp is open to participants aged between 9 and 17 years old. We are also always looking for new assistant leaders (aged 17-18) and new leaders (18+).

Where is Camp?
Camp 2008 will be held on our own campsite in Wenlock, Shropshire! This land was purchased for us by HE Archbishop Gregorios in August 2007 and we are very excited about having camp on our own land this year.

When is Camp 2008?
For participants, camp is from Mon 28 July - Wed 6 August. We ask leaders to come up to the campsite a couple of days early and to leave a couple of days later, to help set-up and take-down the equipment.

Do I have to stay for the whole of camp?
We recommend that you do come for the whole of camp because this gives you time to get to know people and form friendships. However, we are flexible if you are not able to come for the entire time.

How much does it cost?
There is a fee of £160 per participant for the camp. This fee is to help cover the costs of running the camp (although it does not cover all the costs we incur). There is limited help available for those unable to pay the full amount. Please contact us for more details.
There is no set charge for leaders, however, we ask that if possible, leaders make a donation of around £50 to help cover costs
.

How can I find out more?
Please contact Olga Papadopoulos (coordinator of the summer camp) to find out more information.
